RECOMMENDii is operated from Ontario, Canada. When this policy says "we", "us", or "our", it means RECOMMENDii. When it says "you" or "your", it means you, the person using this website.

Our website is recommendii.com. If you have any questions about this policy, please sign in and use the Contact link in the bottom navigation.

We only collect information that helps us run RECOMMENDii. Here is what that includes and why we need it:

• Account information: your name, email address, mobile phone number, street address, and password when you sign up. We collect this to create and manage your account, verify your identity, and communicate with you about your account.
• Profile information: details you choose to add to your RECOMMENDer or business profile, such as your city, province or state, services, website, social media links, photos, and a description. We collect this so other users can find and learn about you on the platform.
• Location information: the city and province or state associated with your account and profile. We collect this to enable location-based search and to determine applicable tax rates for payment processing.
• Connection information: records of which RECOMMENDers and businesses are connected on the platform, including connection dates and status. We collect this to operate the core recommendation and connection features of the platform.
• Payment information: when a business makes a payment, we record the base amount, applicable tax, currency, PayPal transaction reference, and payment date. We do not store credit card or banking details. All payments are processed securely through PayPal. We share your transaction information with PayPal solely for the purpose of processing payments and issuing payouts to RECOMMENDers.
• PayPal email address: RECOMMENDers provide a PayPal email address so we can send payout payments. We use this solely for payout purposes.
• Messages: if you use the contact form to message a business or RECOMMENDer through the platform, or to contact our support team, we keep a record of that message. We collect this to facilitate communication on the platform and to respond to your enquiries.
• Login and security information: we record the IP address and date of your last three logins. We collect this to help you identify unauthorised access to your account and to maintain platform security.
• IP address for rate limiting: when you submit certain forms such as registration or password reset, we temporarily record your IP address to prevent abuse and protect the platform from automated attacks. These records are automatically deleted after one hour.
• Technical information: basic technical data such as your browser type and session information, used to keep you signed in and the site running securely.

We do not collect anything we do not need. We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.

We use the information we collect to:

• Run your account and let you sign in.
• Show your profile to people using RECOMMENDii.
• Connect RECOMMENDers and businesses on the platform.
• Process and record payments.
• Send you emails related to your account, such as email verification or password resets.
• Respond to messages you send us.
• Keep the site secure and running properly.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not share it with advertisers.

Some of what you put on RECOMMENDii is visible to the public. This includes your profile name, tagline, location, services, and any photos you upload. This is how people find and learn about you.

You control what appears on your profile. If you choose to hide your phone number or email address, we will not show them. Only logged-in users can use the contact form to reach you.

We share your information only with the following third parties, and only to the extent necessary:

• PayPal: we share transaction details with PayPal Inc. for the purpose of processing payments from businesses and issuing payouts to RECOMMENDers. PayPal is subject to its own privacy policy available at paypal.com/privacy. We do not share more information with PayPal than is required to complete a transaction.
• Email provider: we use our hosting provider's email service to send account emails such as verification, password resets, and connection notifications. Your email address is used solely for this purpose.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for any purpose.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return. Specifically:

• Active accounts: your information is kept for as long as you have an account on RECOMMENDii.
• Cancelled accounts: if you cancel or request deletion of your account, we retain your data for up to one year from the date of cancellation. This allows us to resolve any outstanding disputes, comply with legal obligations, and restore your account if requested. After one year, your personal information is permanently deleted from our systems.
• Payment records: transaction records may be retained for up to seven years to comply with Canadian tax and accounting requirements.
• Login security records: IP address and login date records are retained for as long as your account is active and deleted when your account is permanently removed.
• Rate limiting records: IP address records used for rate limiting are automatically deleted after one hour.
• Contact messages: messages sent through the platform are retained for up to two years.

You are in control of your information. Under PIPEDA and applicable Ontario privacy legislation, you have the right to:

• Access your information: you can view and update most of your information directly in your account at any time. You may also request a full copy of all personal information we hold about you.
• Correct your information: if something is wrong or out of date, you can fix it in your account settings, or contact us and we will correct it for you.
• Delete your information: you may request that we delete your account and all associated personal information. We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days. Note that payment records may be retained for up to seven years as required by law.
• Withdraw consent: you may withdraw your consent to our collection and use of your personal information at any time by requesting account deletion. Note that withdrawal of consent may mean you can no longer use the platform.
• File a complaint: if you believe we have not handled your personal information appropriately, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

To exercise any of these rights, please sign in and use the Contact page. Please describe your request clearly. For example, "I would like a copy of all personal information you hold about me" or "I would like my account and all data deleted." We will respond within one business day and aim to fulfil all requests within 30 days.

We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and to make the site work properly. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies that follow you around the internet.

If you disable cookies in your browser, you will not be able to sign in to your account.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, theft, and unauthorised access. Passwords are stored using secure hashing. Payments are handled by PayPal and never pass through our servers in full.

No website can guarantee perfect security. If you ever believe your account has been compromised, please sign in and use the Contact link in the bottom navigation to let us know right away.

RECOMMENDii is operated from Ontario, Canada. Your information is stored on servers located in Canada. By using RECOMMENDii, you agree that your information may be stored and processed in Canada, in accordance with Canadian privacy law.

RECOMMENDii is designed and operated to comply with the laws of Ontario, Canada and applicable federal Canadian law, including PIPEDA. The platform is available in English only.

RECOMMENDii is not intended for use in jurisdictions where the platform, its language of operation, or its privacy practices may not comply with local law. This includes, without limitation:

• Quebec, Canada: Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25 / Bill 64) imposes requirements including French language obligations that RECOMMENDii does not currently meet. Residents of Quebec should not use this platform.
• European Union / European Economic Area: RECOMMENDii is not designed to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Residents of the EU or EEA should not use this platform.
• Any other jurisdiction where use of an English-only platform or the privacy practices described in this policy would be unlawful.

By using RECOMMENDii, you confirm that you are located in the United States or English Canada (outside Quebec) and that your use of the platform is lawful in your jurisdiction.

RECOMMENDii is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know by email or by posting a notice on the site. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last updated.

Continuing to use RECOMMENDii after a change means you accept the updated policy.
