On most platforms, someone can say anything about your business without you knowing. A review goes up. You find out later, if at all.
RECOMMENDii works the opposite way.
Nobody gets recommended without knowing it. Nobody recommends someone who does not want it. Both sides have to agree before a Recommendationship exists.
You choose who represents your business. If a RECOMMENDer sends you a request and you do not think they are the right fit, you say no. No explanation required. No hard feelings built into the platform.
You also have the ability to end a Recommendationship at any time. If something changes, if the relationship no longer feels right, you are not locked in. You cancel and move on.
That control is important. Your reputation is attached to who recommends you. You should have a say in that.
A business can ask to be on your list. You decide whether you want to recommend them. If you have never used them, never sent a client their way, or do not genuinely believe in what they do, you say no.
That is not awkward. That is the whole point.
Your list is a reflection of your judgement. Every business on it is there because you chose to put your name behind them. No business gets on your list without earning that.
A Recommendationship that either side can end at any time is not a weak one. It is an honest one.
If a business changes, declines in quality, or stops being something you can stand behind, you can end the Recommendationship. You do not have to keep recommending someone just because you once agreed to. Your reputation comes first.
If a business finds that a RECOMMENDer is no longer the right fit, they can end it too. No platform should force two parties to stay in a relationship that no longer serves either of them.
When you see a Recommendationship on RECOMMENDii, you know something specific. You know that a real person chose to recommend that business. You know the business agreed to have them do it. And you know that both sides are still in, right now.
That is not a five-star rating. That is something much harder to fake.
